In an idyllic setting overlooking the watersports playground of the calm sea in North Sound, Virgin Gorda, the Bitter End is the perfect choice for active families of all ages for its extensive choice of complimentary water based activities including a huge fleet of boats of all sizes, a diving school, sailing school, windsurfing, kiteboarding and motorised Boston whalers.
Accessible only by boat, Bitter End has over 100 moorings for visiting luxury yachts, which makes for a lively, fun environment, in its two restaurants, bars and shops.
The accommodation is in rustic hillside rooms, all with all round sea views of the islands of Prickly Pear, Saba Rock, Eustatia and Mosquito which edge North Sound, and Necker Island in the distance. Furnished in colourful Caribbean style, the spacious rooms and bathrooms have wraparound wooden decks with hammocks.
With a mile of water frontage, Bitter End has a swimming pool at one end of the resort and a jogging trail at the other, with the Clubhouse and main hotel facilities in between.
Entertainments include live music in the Almond walk some evenings, pool tables and disco music in the Pub, and a selection of popular movies in the Sand Palace cinema.
