Grenada
For a really diverse, truly Caribbean experience, Grenada has to be the choice. Touring around this small island - only 22 miles by 12 - will take you through the prettiest capital town and harbour in the Caribbean, St. Georges, and through real working villages untouched by tourism, where Grenadians work as fishermen or on the huge spice plantations for which the island is famous. The scent of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and bay will enchant you as will discovering tropical rainforest, waterfalls and volcanic lakes around the centre of the island which is edged on the coast by long stretches of deserted white sand beaches.
Tourism in Grenada is mostly concentrated in the south of the island, with a wide range of hotels and resorts to choose from, ranging from five to three star and modest but comfortable inns.
