Grenadines A chain of some 30 or so islands and cays just 100 miles west of Barbados, the unspoilt Grenadines are an island hopping paradise. Small exclusive private island resorts offer calm anchorages for the luxury yachts that cruise the waters in between and through the spectacular coral gardens of the Tobago Cays and Mayreau. Regular ferry services operate between the islands, and on the main island of St. Vincent there are waterfalls, rainforest and spectacular mountaineous terrain to be discovered as well as history and tropical gardens in the capital Kingstown. Popular with the A list celebrity set are the islands of Mustique, Bequia and Canouan, whilst Union Island and Petite Martinique remain completely unspoilt and relatively untouched by tourism. For a truly gentle, desert island getaway, the Grenadines can't be beaten.
