St Petes and Clearwater Area St Petersburg and Clearwater, just two hours drive along the Interstate 4, from Orlando, are the most popular stretches of beaches on the Gulf Coast. In the evenings there is something for everyone with a wide choice of restaurants, live music bars and nightclubs. Why not take a drive South over the lovely Sunshine Skyway Bridge to Anna Maria Island and some of the other delightful keys along the coast. Culturally, St Petersburg (affectionately known as St Petes), is home to the Salvador Dali Museum amongst other fine museums. One of Florida’s biggest attractions, Busch Gardens, is also only a short drive away at Tampa.
