Young Island

All Grenadines

The privately owned luxury island resort of Young Island is just a short 5 minutes ride in a quaint little ferryboat from the southern tip of St. Vincent. Legend has it that 150 years ago the Caribs traded the island for a stallion owned by the then British Administrator, Governor Young, hence the origin of the island's name.  Laid back and informal, the atmosphere at Young Island encourages complete relaxation and guests are looked after by a team of staff renowned for their excellent service.
Accommodation is rustic, cottage style, with the hillside rooms affording lovely views towards the islands of Bequia and Mustique in the distance. The most spacious luxury suites have private plunge pools, and many of the rooms have open air showers.
During the day you can swim to the Coconut Bar just off the beach, and enjoy a refreshing drink. Sundowner cocktails are served in Captain Bligh's Lounge and Bar, listening to Caribbean music.
There is a swimming pool, non-motorised water sports, tennis and diving, as well as a small treatment and beauty room set on the hillside offering a full range of treatments.
Homemade breads are a speciality at Young Island, where the chef uses mostly local ingredients to create mouth-watering cuisine, served in a charming restaurant that has individual gazebos overlooking the beach for guests wanting seclusion and privacy.
To further enhance your holiday experience, why not book a Sailaway Package with a few nights cruising the Grenadines on the hotel's private catamaran.  Please ask Reservations for details.
